Your job should constantly challenge you to grow and create greater impact. Unfortunately this is not always the case

I was working with a client who felt stuck in a job he hated.
He was unable to find other opportunities despite trying long and hard.
"It wasn't always like this", he said.
"There was a time when this was my dream job and I would never even think about doing anything else."
Unfortunately, this is not uncommon.
Leadership changes, technology, acquisitions, life experiences and values can gradually, or suddenly make you a misfit in your dream job, or irrelevant in the job market.
Here are 5 warning signs you must heed to avoid becoming irrelevant:
⚠️ Your company's vision is no longer aligned with the impact you wish to create
⚠️ Your company's technology or business model is getting outdated and limiting your learning and impact
⚠️ Your job is no longer offering you the challenges that push you to be your very best
⚠️ Your company's growth plans are getting more modest and lack of opportunities is holding you back
⚠️ Your company is getting acquired by another company, one you don't care to work for
A lifetime career with the same organisation, or even in the same field is increasingly an exception.
That you will have to change jobs is certain.
The only question is whether you do it proactively or wait until it's too late.
