What does Serving Your Customer Mean from a Personal Branding Perspective?

When it comes to your career, you have two customers: the person using your product, and the person holding the key to your career.

While both are important, from a personal branding perspective, the customer is the person who can offer you your dream job.

While you are probably clear about serving the end-customer, what does serving your 'true customer' mean?

You serve your customer by helping them

✅ satisfy their needs & wants
✅ address their frustrations & fears
✅ fulfil their desires & aspirations

Help your customer satisfy their needs & wants
Needs are the core requirements of their job - what they are expected to deliver. Wants are their own commitment to go beyond and leave their mark.

Help your customers address their frustrations & fears
Frustrations are irritants and barriers that get in the way of achieving goals. Fears are projections about negative personal consequences of not achieving their goals.

Help your customer fulfil their desires & aspirations
Desires are minor wins and short-term career goals like serving their customer or building their brand. Aspirations are their vision and long-term goals for their career.

In essence, serving your customer is making them look good.
Serving your customer is making them win.
