Weekly Reviews are one of the highest leverage habits you can cultivate

Recently, I started Weekly Reviews with some clients.

I did this after they said they knew they ought to do them but were too busy.

Part of the problem is lengthy processes and elaborate checklists.

Also, to "know" the benefits of a Weekly Review, you have to experience one yourself

Here are some benefits people experience after their first Weekly Review

? Capture commitments. You identify commitments that would otherwise fall through the cracks

? Estimate better. When you review what you planned and completed, you see how bad you are at estimation. This helps you plan next week better

? Revise plans. As you review what was achieved, it shows gaps or faulty assumptions in your planning. Catching this early and making changes ensures your projects are less likely to get derailed

? See patterns. Do you work better in the morning or later? Do you always put off certain activities? Who energises you, who leaves you drained?

? Reconnect with Why. Forget the goal and focus on the practice is mostly good advice. However without periodically reconnecting with your why, habits and routines start looking meaningless, and you lose steam.

Make weekly reviews part of your life - they are one of the highest leverage habits you can cultivate
